This is a small collection of photographs originally captured in black and white, which have been meticulously hand-restored due to damage to the original glass plate, negative or photograph, and subsequently brought to life with digital colorization.
Maldon's Military
A selection of photographs captured throughout the duration of the First World War.
These photos were mainly captured at the military training camp on Maldon Road (A414), opposite Limebrook Farm, plus in the areas behind what's is now Morrison supermarket. A handful were also taken at the Promenade, Spital Road, Maldon West Railway Station, Tenterfield Road, Maldon Grammar School playing field on Fambridge Road (now home to the Plume school), High Street on the junction with Market Hill on their way to Maldon East and Heybridge Railway Station en route to the front, sadly many of those pictured never came home.
